Searching for Canadian teacher to develop study materials
March 4, 2009
We are getting much interest in School Match, our Canadian/Afghan school twinning program.
While it is important to provide learning materials to Afghan schools, we believe that Canadian and Kandahar children involved would gain much more if they share their experience.
As such, We are searching for a teacher to volunteer their time to develop a small package of appropriate study materials to complement the program. Our goal is to sensitize Canadian children with the lives of their Afghan peers.
No travel is involved, but the volunteer would have to be a self-starter. Meanwhile in Kandahar, local counterparts will prepare similar materials for their students. Skills Generation will act as a bridge between both groups. Beyond that it’s up to us to figure the next step.
We can’t pay you anything other than understanding that you are making a difference.

Two Canadian Schools to match with Kandahari Counterpart
February 18, 2009
Two schools, one from Ontario the other from Alberta, have expressed interest in twinning with counterpart schools in Kandahar. Details are being worked out, but we and the Kandahari teacher, are excited. We’ll provide more information as things progress.
There are hundreds of 250 schools in Kandahar Province, each with incredible need. The more matches we can make, the better the learning experience will be for Kandahari children.
Kandahar Educators sign on to School Match
February 2, 2009
The Ministry of Education in Kandahar are proving to be enthusiastic partners in our School Twinning program. At present, they are speaking with educators from more than 150 schools in Kandahar City to find the most needy schools.
While understanding that donations may be modest, the Ministry particularly appreciate that this is a student/teacher/parent driven initiative. “We are in such need,” said one educator, “a small amount makes a big difference, especially if it is from children to children.”
